ASHTANGA SECONDARY SERIES

The secondary series is known as Nadi Shodana, which means "nerve cleansing." This series focuses on the energetic regions of the spine, pelvis, and hips and will be broken down over two weeks to explore the first half of the second series up until dwi pada sirsasana.

The beauty of developing a second series practice is the strength and clarity that is brought into the body and mind. This series demands a deeper level of concentration from the mind as well as strength and endurance from the body.

Class size is limited and appropriate for students who are already practicing the primary & second series or working in the Mysore classroom with Kimberly.

The very nature of yoga is meant to take us inward to explore the inner landscape. The most fundamental aspects of the practice are also the most subtle. We can get caught up in our asana practice by trying to perfect the outer body through alignment and form.

In this class we will establish and explore the key tools to develop and deepen the thread of prana through breathing techniques, internal locks, and concentration.



Jumping back, forward & throughout your practice

Class size is limited and open to dedicated practitioners.

This class is an opportunity to expand your understanding and approach to the vinyasa system of Ashtanga Yoga. We will explore the breath movement and transitions in Surya Namaskara A and B, as well as between the seated poses within the primary series. Healthy movement patterns of the shoulders, wrists, upper body and spine will be introduced to approach these fun but challenging aspects of practice.
