This day-long retreat is designed to take a long, deep sigh during the holiday season and to reset and create time for reflection as we move into the New Year.
The Niyamas are the second of Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga: 8 Limbs of Yoga. They are moral codes or social contracts which guide us toward positive behavior, especially toward ourselves. In this class, we will look at the Niyama, Tapas, which means discipline, austerity or burning enthusiasm. Tapas is paired in the yoga sutras with Svadhyaya, self-study, and Ishvara Pranidhana, surrender to something larger than our self. We will use these guiding principles as a way to form our sankalpa and move toward our highest potential in 2020.
This class will be woven with moments of silence and reflection as well as movement and transformation.
All levels of practitioners are welcome.
